Our story

There are only three cups like it in the world.

About 800 years ago, a few tea bowls came out of a kiln in southern China changed, their glaze shimmering like a night sky. Only three survive, and all three are National Treasures of Japan. The Japanese have a word for it: yōhen, "kiln change."

Fireprint is inspired by that moment. Every mug gets the same glaze and the same kiln, and the fire makes each pattern only once.

Each one is dipped in glaze by hand in Dehua, a town in southern China that has fired ceramics for centuries.
